Ella Fitzgerald: A Centennial Celebration

Bay Area Cabaret opens their 2017/2018 Season in the Fairmont San Francisco’s legendary Venetian Room, with an all-star line-up honoring the woman who helped make it famous – Ella Fitzgerald. The First Lady Of Song performed regularly in the Venetian Room during its heyday and often celebrated her birthday there. Celebrating the centennial of Ella’s birth will be Tony and Emmy winner Lillias White (The Life, Fela!, Netflix’s The Get Down), Grammy nominated Soul/Jazz singer Freda Payne (Band Of Gold, Bring the Boys Home), nine-time Grammy winner Janis Siegel (The Manhattan Transfer), and San Francisco-based jazz singers Sony Hollandand Amanda King, along with musical director Larry Dunlap (Dame Cleo Laine, Joe Williams).
